Why hire a Postpartum Doula:
Research has shown that parents who receive postpartum support have greater success with breastfeeding, lower incidence of postpartum depression, lower incidence of abuse, and feel more confident in their adjustment to new family dynamics.
What does a Postpartum Doula do:
- Offers education, companionship and nonjudgmental support during the postpartum fourth trimester
- Assists with newborn care, family adjustment, meal preparation and light household tidying
- Offers evidence-based information on infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from birth, infant soothing and coping skills for new parents and makes appropriate referrals when necessary

My Postpartum Doula Philosophy
The "fourth trimester", or weeks just after the birth of a new baby, is a time of challenges and changes. Parents can benefit from the support of an experienced woman who comes into the home to support them in whatever way is needed. A doula enhances the parents' own style, and is non-judgmental.

I have education and training in the following areas:
- Breastfeeding
- Infant care
- Postpartum changes in mom
- Postpartum mood disorders
- Postpartum adjustments for mom and dad
- Helping with multiples
Postpartum doulas do not perform medical tasks. This allows me the versatility to help with other tasks, like sibling adjustment, meal preparation, running errands, and household organization.
My daytime rate is $25 per hour and overnight rate is $35 per hour.
